What is a Calorie Deficit?

Β

How Does Weight Loss Work?

Β

Weight loss happens when you are in a CALORIE DEFICITβ€”this means you eat fewer calories than your body burns.

When this happens, your body uses stored fat for energy, leading to weight loss.

πŸ‘‰ Eat more calories than you burn = weight gain

πŸ‘‰ Burn more calories than you eat (calorie deficit) = weight loss

πŸ‘‰ Eat and burn the same amount = weight stays the same

To lose about 0.5 kg (1 lb) per week, you need a calorie deficit of 500 calories per day. You can create a calorie deficit by:

βœ” Eating a little less

βœ” Being more active (walking, playing sports, exercising, etc.)

βœ” Doing both for the best results!
